Viruses and Malware

There are a huge range of threats to computers on the internet by way of malicious programs known as Viruses, Trojans, Worms, Spyware and Adware, collectively known as “Malware”.

These programs seek to vandalise your computer, display unwanted adverts for drugs or pornography, to track the internet sites you visit (to target advertising to you), to steal personal information or access codes to your online systems such as internet banking, or to steal your resources (computer time, internet connection) often as part of a mass emailing “SPAM” system.

Catching a virus or malware on your computer system can be very frustrating, hazardous to the health of your computer, or worse lead to identity theft or loss of money from your bank account.

Symptoms

First Class PC Repairs works with several anti-virus and anti-adware vendors products and can use a range of professional software tools to scan, quarantine and remove viruses and malware.

Scanning for, and removing, viruses and malware can take several hours or as much as a whole day depending on the size of your computer’s disc drives and the number of problems found.  In some rare cases, where there are significant problems, the best solution is to backup all of your data and re-install the operating system, programs and re-build the system in a “clean” state.

Email Solutions
